Rooted in ritual
A time-honored wellness ritual known for dry heat, detoxification, and profound relaxation.
This dry heat environment surrounds the body in ambient warmth, with the option to introduce löyly — the soft, enveloping steam created by pouring water over heated sauna stones. This Finnish tradition deepens the sweat response, enhances circulation, and cultivates a meditative pause between movement and restoration.

Located in our completely redesigned men’s and women’s locker rooms, the Finnish sauna is available to both spa guests and gym members. It offers a moment of stillness and recovery as part of your wellness routine.
The benefits
Though rooted in tradition, the Finnish sauna is a proven biohacking modality — stimulating heat shock proteins, aiding detoxification, boosting immunity, and supporting full-body recovery.
Unlike the mPulse Infrared Sauna, which uses targeted light wavelengths to raise internal core temperature, the Finnish sauna works from the outside in — delivering a more intense, elemental heat experience that encourages a surface-level, detoxifying sweat.
Promotes detoxification through deep sweat
Boosts cardiovascular performance
Enhances circulation and lymphatic drainage
Relieves muscle tension and joint stiffness
Supports immune health and stress resilience
Stimulates natural collagen production via heat exposure
Finnish sauna FAQ’S
-
A Finnish sauna is a dry heat environment typically heated to 170–190°F. It uses heated stones to warm the air, with the option to pour water over them to create löyly — a brief burst of steam that intensifies the experience.
-
The Finnish sauna uses ambient heat to warm your body from the outside in, creating a surface-level sweat. The mPulse Infrared Sauna uses light-based wavelengths to raise core body temperature internally — offering a gentler, more targeted experience. Both have unique benefits and can complement each other.
-
Sweat levels are different for everyone. It is not surprising if clients do not sweat during the first few sessions. Sweating increases with regular use. Even when clients are not drenched in sweat, the body is still detoxifying from harmful toxins. The more hydrated a client is, the more she will sweat. If clients want to sweat even more, we have a sweat amplifying cream available for purchase.
-
Hydrate well before entering. Avoid alcohol or heavy meals, and remove any lotions, oils, or makeup to allow your skin to breathe and sweat effectively.
-
Yes. The deep heat increases blood flow, reduces muscle stiffness, and may ease joint pain — making it a valuable recovery tool after workouts or physical stress.
-
Absolutely. The sauna opens pores, flushes out impurities, and improves circulation — leaving your skin refreshed and glowing.
-
Even 1–3 sessions per week can provide benefits. As part of a consistent routine, sauna use can contribute to improved recovery, relaxation, and overall vitality.
-
The Traditional Finnish Sauna is available to all spa clients on the day of their treatment and to members of The Gym at Yellow Creek as part of their locker room access.
-
Most guests stay between 10–20 minutes per session. Always listen to your body, take breaks as needed, and hydrate before and after use.
-
Yes — you can pour a small amount of water over the heated rocks to create löyly, a traditional Finnish method that produces gentle steam and intensifies the heat temporarily.
-
No appointment is needed for the Finnish sauna. It is included as part of your spa visit or gym membership experience.
-
Just as you would not leave your cell phone in your car on a hot day, it is not recommended that cell phones, tablets, watches or other electronics go into the sauna.
-
While sauna use is generally safe for healthy individuals, guests with cardiovascular conditions, low blood pressure, respiratory issues, or those who are pregnant should consult their physician before using the sauna.
-
Yes. Regular sauna sessions may help strengthen immunity by stimulating white blood cell production and mimicking the effects of a mild fever — a natural immune response.
